菜畑遺跡

この地で日本最古と見られる稲作遺跡が発見された。この遺跡の発掘により稲作は弥生時代ではなく縄文時代に始まっていたことが確認された。

The ruins of rice farming, which are believed to be the oldest in Japan, were discovered here in this place. The excavation of these ruins confirmed that Japanese rice farming had already started in the Jomon period (14,000BC - 400BC), not the Yayoi period (400BC - AD250) as was previously thought.
